History
The exact heritage of the Peruvian Inca Orchid is unknown. However, it is an ancient breed thought to have originated around 750 A.D. Incan nobility favored these dog, the breed is thought to have earned its current name when the Spanish conquered the Incas because they were discovered in orchid patches.

Recognized by the AKC in 1996 as Foundation Stock, the Peruvian Incan Orchid is a rare breed that is attempting to obtain registration status.
