Although its exact origin is unknown, the Entelbuch Mountain Dog is probably a descendant of the Mastiff. It is popular in Switzerland, but rarely seen outside of its native country. The breed was rescued from extinction by Franz Schertenleib, a Swiss dog breeder, in the late 1800s.
