The Spanish Mastiff needs little exercise.
No special grooming requirements.
The Spanish Mastiff is a large breed, its size often makes pet owners weary to commit. It is a fairly gentle, obedient breed, but can tend to snap.
Good with children.
The breed's origin is unknown. However, it's likely that, like other Mastiffs, the Spanish Mastiff is descended from dogs brought to the region by Phoenician and Greek travelers more than 2,000 years ago. It was originally used to guard sheep from wolves. Today, it is still popular as a livestock guardian, as well as a pet.
