Due to its working nature, the Norwegian Buhund requires daily exercise consisting of long walks, jogs, romps or play sessions. This breed loves to run in a fenced yard.
No special grooming requirements.
Intelligent, attentive and loveable, this breed learns quickly and considers training fun. Norwegian Buhunds are highly active and will require plenty of exercise and attention. The breed is prone to barking and will do so to communicate with its owner. While the Norwegian Buhund can be stubborn, it is also easy-going and will not bite or snap unless provoked.
This breed is well-known for its love of kids and makes an excellent choice for families.
A descendant of ancient Nordic hounds, the Buhund was originally used for sledding, herding and hunting. Today, it makes an excellent family pet and guard for the family property.
