The Wachtelhund is the only remaining descendant of the Stober breed. The breed is used in Germany to hunt feathered game, as well as wild boars, foxes and hares. Bred in the 1880s as an attempt to revive the Stoberhunting breed. Wachtelhund translates into "quail dog." This dog is considered a rare breed."
